About Us

Friends of Fanshawe is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to the running of Fanshawe Pool and Gym to provide accessible, high-quality leisure and fitness facilities for local residents. Should the community-led takeover be successful, we are committed to ensuring the centre thrives as a hub for wellbeing, health, and social engagement.

The Role

We are seeking passionate and committed Volunteer Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of our community leisure centre. As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in governance, strategic direction, and sustainability, ensuring we continue to serve the community effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and governance to support the centre’s growth and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support fundraising, grant applications, and income diversification.
  • Act as an ambassador for the centre, promoting its services and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial performance and contribute to business planning.
  • Advise on areas such as finance, marketing, HR, community engagement, and operations (depending on expertise).

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals with a passion for community development and experience in one or more of the following areas:
✔ Finance, accounting, or fundraising
✔ Legal and governance
✔ Marketing, communications, and PR
✔ Sports, health, and wellbeing
✔ Business development and social enterprise
✔ Property and facilities management
✔ Community engagement and volunteer management

Previous trustee or board experience is not essential – we value enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to contribute.
